How to Get Rid of Spiders

I know how creepy and disgusting they are especially if they ever fall over you.

And the most disturbing thing is if you remove their web, they will come back after a few days. That is the only thing I hate about spiders.

But not anymore I will give a few homemade and professional tips that will blow their mind and make those creepy spiders leave your house forever.

Of course, if you have to follow them year after year.

So Let’s start with my personal homemade idea.

1. My Homemade Spider Repellent Idea

My Homemade Spider Repellent Idea

First, I have seen them build up their webs in a corner where the area is a bit wet.

We have a room, and above it, we have the water tank. Those spiders make most of their webs in that place.

So I cleaned those areas, removed all the dirt that was holding water on the roof, and helped the sunlight reach that part of the house by cutting some trees near the wall.

In a few days, I saw fewer spiders making webs there. But still, it needs work. I continued the process for a few weeks, and those spiders are gone.

I did other things also. So that they never settle again in any part of my house. Here are those ideas for how to get rid of spiders step by step.

2. Remove all the Clutter in Your House

Okay, now start from the beginning. Clear all the dirt and damp places from your house, basement, wood structure, garden pots, garden, and roof.

Wash them with water and use some scent there for a good vibe around the house. Wear hand gloves to protect yourself while cleaning all these places.

3. Seal All The Cracks

Then seal all the cracks, including wood cracks, closet, crawl space, wall, and all the other cracks you have found while cleaning.

You can use glue or cement to seal them up. It is up to you and the thing available right now.

Wait a week to see the effect. If you see that those ideas are not that effective.

Follow the below steps to kill them. And then, to stop future infestation, make sure the area gets proper sunlight.

4. Build a Homemade Spray

Mix soap with water and essential oil and spray on those places. Take a ladder and spray all the corners of your house where you think the sunlight is not reaching properly.

The mixture will create a smell that those spiders can not tolerate and will leave the place or go unconscious and fall to the ground. And then remove them and make the whole house clean.

5. Use Vinegar or Baking Soda

If you want a stronger and quicker formula, mix vinegar with water or baking soda and spray on them.

Do the same process as above, and you will see the result faster. The vinegar can kill those spiders in a quick time.

6. Plant Some Insect Repellent Plants

Now, for your future safety, plant some insect-repellent plants like mint, lavender, lemongrass, basil, or rosemary in your house in a pot.

They will create a strong smell in your house and repel those spiders, lizards, bugs, and other insects in your house.

7. Get a Good Paint

You can also get good paint to stop them from making web around your house. I have painted the areas of the house that I was taking earlier.

And now they are gone. Good paint has a strong smell that can repel any insect or reptile.

But the problem is when the smell fades away after a year they will again come back.

8. Hang Egg Shells

After eating the egg do not throw the shells away. Hang them in your room where you have seen spiders. The smell will let them live there.

Yes, you have to replace the eggshell once a week. But it works as I have seen.

9. Heat Up The Room

Spiders love the moisture. So do the opposite and heat up the whole room. See if the sun is coming to the room or not. If not why not?

If necessary cut some big tree branches near the house, open your windows, or get a heater. I mean do anything to heat up the room and they will leave soon.

10. Clean, Clean, and Clean

No matter how many times you remove their webs, use spray, or anything if your house remains unclear for weeks then they will come.

Make this a habit. Clean your room weekly and use the above ideas to further repel them.

My Recommendations

Get one of these spider repellents and spray all over your house, garden, porch, and garage.

Last Words

So this is how to get rid of spiders in your house. Clean your house and basement occasionally so that your effect does not go to waste after all these. I wish you the best of luck.
