As per my experience, use freezing water or ice in the spot where they have stung you. Then after a few minutes, use toothpaste in good quantity and rub it. 

• The toothpaste will calm the bitten area, preventing any infection in the future.

You can also use baking soda or any cold lotion on the spot. But I found out that the ice and the toothpaste work the best.

How to Get Rid of Wasps Nests in the House

I know you want to destroy their hive. But that may not work all the time as they will again build the hive there or close to it.

The best way to remove those wasps permanently is by following the below ideas.

Let’s pick up any of these homemade and professional ideas and repel all those wasps from your house. Let’s start with my homemade idea.

1. How I Got Rid of Wasps from My House

Recently I have noticed that these wasps do not roam around when there is a slice of cucumber. I did not know why, but I wanted to test this out.

Today I sliced a few cucumbers and rubbed them on the food table. Then I noticed that the wasp came onto it and acted like a drunk. It looks like the wasp can not decide where to land or go.

The same effect I have seen when I have turned off the light. They fall to the ground or leave the place to search for another light source. So turn off your outdoor light.

So yes, cucumber and off-light are very effective in wasp repellent. Create a few slices of the cucumber. Make the white flesh out and leave it in your house. Try it. It may work. 

2. Build a Wasp Trap with Sugar

You can also use sugar to build a wasp trap. Mix liquid sugar with boric powder and set it up near the nest. They will get attracted to the sugar and get stuck in it. 

If some wasps fly away, they will still die as the boric powder will destroy their digestive system. So in both cases, those wasps will die. 

Repeat this process for a few days until none of the wasps are alive. It is my favorite idea on how to get rid of wasps in the house.

3. Kill Them with a Wasp Killer Liquid

There are a lot of wasp killer or pest control liquids available online. Buy one of these and spray it on their nest and on every area they hang out.

It is one of the quickest ways to repel them.

These pest control liquids not only kill those wasps. But also helps you repel and kill ants, mosquitos, rats, roaches, and other insects living in your house. 

4. Build a False Wasp Nest

Let me clarify, it is one of the slowest ways on our list to get rid of wasps, and I do not recommend it unless none of the other ideas are working and you are frustrated.

Buy a fake wasp nest and set it up far away from your house. Set it up in an area where they can not disturb you. But do not set it up too far. Make those wasps notice and live in it.

• Wasps tend to make nests side by side.

So if they find that there is a nest, they will think it is a secure place to build a new home. And maybe they will move there, leaving you alone.

Then when they move there in looking for a better nest (after a few days), break it off and throw it away. That is it. Simple.

5. Use Plants that Repel Them

Some people also use plants and flowers to repel those wasps from their houses. Those plants release a strong odor that the wasps can not tolerate. 

Here is the plant list that you can plant in your house or in a pot in the house.

• Mint
• Basil
• Lavender
• Catnip
• Lemongrass

These are the common plants that are available in almost every market. But you can choose another wasp-repellent plant if you want.

6. Spray Essential Oils on the Wasp Nest

Buy any of these essential oils and spray them on their nest. All of them are made from the plants that I recommended you plant in your garden earlier. But the oil will work faster. 

Here is your essential oil list.

• Lemongrass oil
• Peppermint oil
• Lavender oil
• Clove oil
• Cinnamon oil

Buy these oils and spray them near their base, and they will leave, like instantly.

7. Use Vinegar with Detergent and Spray

One more idea that I want to share is you spray vinegar on them or in a place where they hang out often. Mix vinegar with detergent and spray on their nest. 

The vinegar will attract them, and the detergent will kill them. It is similar to the boric powder and sugar trap formula but with different mixtures.

8. Burn Them Down

If they are not listening to your warning then burn their home down.

Get a stick and circle fabric on top of it and then light it up. Then hold it near their nest they will die almost immediately.

9. Throw Keorosene on the Nest

Kerosene oil releases too much odor that even humans can not withstand. Spray the oil on their nest and they will leave instantly and never come back.

10. Flood them

If the nest is on the ground then flood them. If it is on the wall then use the pressure washer and wash it away. Both ways no wasp will ever sting you. Try it.

How to Get Rid of Wasp Nest in Wall?

Follow these steps.

• Year a sunglass and handgloves.
• Take a plastic jar to remove the wasp nest.
• Come close to the nest quietly when it is dark outside.
• Detach the wasp nest as fast as you can with a stick
• Trap the nest in the jar.
• Close the jar and throw it far away or burn them all together.

It is the safest idea to repel wasps in the house. Try it.

How to Get Rid of Wasps Nest in the Ground?

Now, removing wasps from the ground is a bit complicated, but you can do it. Here is how.

• First, throw the diatomaceous earth power in their nest.
• Wait a few days, and most of the wasps will be dead.
• If not, then use any pest control spray in the nest in large quantities.
• You can also use vinegar here.
• Then, dig the hole and smash it all together.
• Submerge the area with water.

But wear protective gear. So that mistakenly, you do not get stung.

How to Get Rid of Wasp Nest in Tree?

I will give you my personal idea. 

• Get a big stick, wrap a wet cloth and oil, and fire it up. 
• Then, turn the fire off so that it creates the smoke you need. 
• Wave the smoke on the nest of those wasps. 
• You will see they will all come out. 
• Then, break the nest with another stick and burn it. 
• Clean the trees with soap and detergent mixture to repel them permanently.

But the chances are they will sting you. That is why, get a protection mask, eyeglasses, and hand gloves then do this.
